Understanding the Overall Aspect of B.Tech Mechanical Engineering

B.Tech has several branches. From civil to mechanical, aspirants can choose from any of the options and take up the course to have a promising career. Mechanical engineering is one of the core engineering fields that offer good job options. B. Tech in mechanical engineering is 4 years long course divided into 8 semesters during which students will undergo both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field. Every universities and degree colleges in India offer B. Tech in mechanical engineering course with good infrastructure. A top university in UP for B.Tech offers high quality courses helping students to understand the insight of the field.

What is Mechanical Engineering?

Mechanical engineering is an oldest branch and is an extremely broad and diverse. Aspirants taking up this course need to deal with concept of mechanics, robotics, kinematics, and others. In today’s time, the scope of mechanical engineering has increased offering wider job opportunities for aspirant. The focus is on areas such as nanotechnology, biomedical applications and environment preservation. Moreover, with the Make in India call by the Government of India, the growth of manufacturing plants have increased giving more job opportunities for mechanical engineers .

Different job avenues for mechanical engineers in India:

There are different industries that accept graduate mechanical engineers. Some of the sectors are:

Aerospace Industry- Design, manufacturing and maintaining aircraft

Automotive Industry- Manufacturing and designing

Marine Industry- Developing and helping to operate vessels

Pharma Industry: Manufacturing of drugs

Each of these industries uses concepts that are driven by thoughts of mechanical engineers. However, as the market is changing, the scope of job opportunities for mechanical engineers is also changing. They are being offered jobs beyond the traditional methods. Mechanical engineers are also entering into financial and marketing aspects of products. With a bouquet of job opportunities, aspirants are showing much interest in this field.

Important Subjects in Mechanical Engineering:

There are different subjects in mechanical engineering universities are offering. Some of the subjects taught are:

Communication skills

Elements of Mechanical Engineering

Basics of civil engineering

Computer Programming and Utilization

Engineering Physics

These subjects are either taught in a practical or theoretical way. Students are offered with in-depth information of each to get acquainted with them.    

Getting into the Course:

Students interested in B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, need to be 10+2 pass out with subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Maths. If the student wants to get into IIT, then IIT JEE exam has to be cleared. However, aspirant with good percentage can get into any top university in UP for B.Tech course. Once the B.Tech is cleared, students can either opt for a job or consider ME/M.Tech for which Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineers (GATE) need to be cleared. Different colleges and universities carry similar admission process, which the student should have a clear idea.  

Like every other engineering branch, mechanical too requires certain traits and skills that are important to possess. These skills can be honed when undergoing the course from reputed B.Tech universities in Delhi NCR or other regions.
